Local Transport Champion (Lincolnshire)
We’re recruiting Local Transport Champions in your area as part of our Transport Deserts campaign for a comprehensive and cohesive rural bus network.
CPRE’s vision is that every village in rural England will have a bus every hour between 6am-12pm to enhance rural living, help fight climate change and support rural economies. You can read about the success we’ve had so far in our Transport Deserts and Every Village Every Hour reports. You can find out about the situation in your county in this recent BBC News report.
As we enter the next phase of the campaign, we’re keen to establish a network of grassroots campaigners across the country. As a Local Transport Champion, you’ll connect with your local community and stakeholders to raise support for a comprehensive rural bus service. You’ll write to local MPs, councillors and council departments to influence decision-making, and gather case studies to supply the evidence we need to bring about real change.
You’ll work alongside your local CPRE group, local stakeholders and, once the campaign is established, a peer group of volunteers across the country. You’ll be supported by a friendly team of professional campaigners at national CPRE.
We’re passionate about making the countryside a better place for everyone to enjoy. Our vibrant team of volunteers inspire people to care for the countryside and enjoy the benefits it brings wherever they live.
