Trustee (Essex)

Whether it’s for their beauty, their tranquillity or just as places to escape outdoors, Essex’s green spaces are precious for ensuring our mental and physical well-being.

Those special places are threatened as never before, but we are determined to defend, promote and enhance them just as strongly. To that end, we are looking to expand our efforts and our influence across the county.

A strength of CPRE Essex is that we are part of a wider, national family and the combined efforts of our local groups and national charity have allowed us to take part in consultations at the highest level on proposed changes to the planning system that could have been disastrous for our rural environment - and over the last year there was some softening of those proposals.

We look to highlight the positive as well as the potential threats, and activities such as Star Count, Green Clean and Rural Rides have kept our public profile high. We still have much to celebrate.
